NO MATTER WHAT, I WILL BE HAPPY :)
It was around 6pm on December 31st, and I received a call from my mom. She was at my aunt's house, who lives at the beach, in Rio. My aunt lives about 10 feet from the beach, you can see the ocean from her living room. Her living room has a glass wall that goes from the floor to the roof. She lives on the 9th floor so you have the impression that you are in the beach when you look outside. You gotta see to understand how beautiful her view is.
I need to tell you about New year's evening in Brasil before I continue my story.
In Brasil it is a hugh deal. It is as important as Christmas. We have a big dinner, with turkey, ham, pork, cobb fish, fruits, deserts, you name it, we have it. The way you start the year dictates how your year will be like. So everyone gets new clothes. Each color means a different thing you want to attract to your life. Example: Red attracts passion, yellow money, green hope, white peace, pink love, etc. We eat grapes and throw the seeds up and make wishes. People eat lentilha (a kind of soup) with money under the plate to attract money. We jump the first 3 waves and make wishes (this is my favorite one). We open champagne and have at least a gulp of it and spray it around. People do all kind of superticious things to attract luck and happiness.
My mom told me they have so much food that she didn't have room on the table for everything. They went to a special mass celebrated on the beach and they were waiting for the fire works that starts at midnight. She told me it was very hot there and she would jump the 3 waves for me. My mom is not a superticious woman, she is VERY religious, but she told me she would do it for me, it doesn't hurt to try it, right? And I don't think it is a sin so my mom is safe and so am I.
Then she asked me if I was ready and what I was gonna do. Well I looked around and I noticed that I had Nothing cooked, I had no plans, Rob didn't want to go anywhere (of course) and it was 31 F degrees. It made me miss Rio even more than I was already missing it. Everyone knows I love partys and my hubby loves our beanbag (it is right the opposits attractseach other, we are ions and protons, and I love him anyway). I didn't want to fight with him about going to anywhere and I actually was miserably tired. Mariana hasn't slept well latelly, neither have I.
While I was thinking about my life I decided my 1st resolution for this year:
No matter what, I will be happy!!!
So I took a shower and put a new outfit on. Clara and Ana Paula had gave a red blouse. I love it because it attracts passion and I need to have passion on my life to keep me moving on happily.
I remembered Rob had a Champagne in the refrigerated for years. He told me once it was there for 5 years, he was waiting for a great moment to open it. Well honey, your great moment has finally arrived. I told him that we were gonna have a party. We had everything we needed. We had each other, we had Mariana, we had peace, love and we even had a good, expansive champagne and we were gonna jump the piles of snow instead of the waves. I became so excited that I was able to make him excited too.
So we got all ready, I put 3 cute new outfits on Mariana but she spit on all of them and it didn't do thru midnight, so I gave up and put a new pjs on her (it is white so she is gonna be just fine). We watched some funny comedy shows, we openned our champagne at midnight, I jumped the 3 piles of snow while I was thinking about my wishes, I made us grilled cheese and ham sandwiches and we fall asleep on the bean bag.
We had a great time!!! I love my new resolution and I am confident that it is gonna be a wonderful year!!! :)
I hope you all had a good time!
